On 21 June, Ambassador OKUDA handed over various kinds of equipment and facilities to the Ministry of Health and the Shefa Provincial Government at the Mele Health Centre.
Enhancing Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities in Healthcare Facilities is very important not only against COVID19, but also against various other infectious diseases.
We sincerely hope that this equipment will be properly managed and used for the benefit of the people, especially for children, for many years to come and that the provision of WASH facilities nationwide under this project will also contribute to strengthening infection control measures in health facilities.
Japan, together with UNICEF, will continue to support Vanuatu to further upgrade health facilities and ensure a healthy and safe life for all the citizens of the country.
