  • Must have sufficient passport pages (two blank adjacent passport pages)
  • Due to the recent sharp increase in the number of visa applications, it is expected that the screening and visa issuance procedures will take longer  (approximately 10 business days) than usual (approximately 5 business days). Those who is planning to visit Japan is highly recommended to submit a visa application well in advance of the trip to Japan.
  • We recommend that you don't purchase your airline ticket before you submit your visa application. Instead, you can present a printout or screen shot of your proposed flight schedule.
  • When applying for a visa, the applicant must apply in person at the Embassy. Documentation requirements may vary according to nationality and purpose of visit.
  • The applicant must be a resident of Vanuatu. Even if a representative only brings passports and documents, a visa cannot be issued if the applicant's residence cannot be proved. If you are in Vanuatu for tourism or short-term business and wish to visit Japan, you should apply for a visa at the Japanese Embassy/Consulate General in your country/region of residence.
  • The Embassy reserves the rights to request for additional documents whenever it deems necessary.

It is a web service that can be used for immigration procedures (immigration clearance, customs declaration). It can be used not only by those entering the country from overseas but also by those returning to Japan.
By registering the information necessary for immigration procedures in advance and presenting the 2D code at the time of immigration procedures, you can go through the immigration procedures smoothly.
Foreigners can also use it for tax-free purchases during their stay in Japan.

Temporary Visitor Visa

A Temporary Visitor Visa is for those who intend to stay in Japan for 90 days or less for such purposes as tourism, visiting relatives/ acquaintances, short-term business affairs, etc.
